About us
History
Founded in 1845 Wilckens was active in the cereal business
in the years up to World War 1. When the export markets for cereals
where lost during the war events Max Ernst Wilckens started the business
with paints and lacquers. After World War 2 and the relocation from
Elmshorn to Glckstadt the business expanded and boomed the company in
this area and the cornerstone for today’s success was laid.
1996 the new factory at Glckstadt’s outskirts was completed and
entered. In this modern production facility we today produce 20.000
tons of paints annually for industry as well as for marine and DIY.
We are one of Germany’s most considerable independent paint producers
als well as Germany’s biggest producer of marine coatings.
Also today, more than 150 years after the founding, the management of our company is still in families hands. In fourth generation the brothers Dr. Marcus Wilckens and Michel Wilckens lead the Wilckens Farben GmbH successfully.
